Art Lecture on Joseph Duveen

Join us on Sunday, March 24th at 10:30 a.m. at the synagogue when our esteemed congregant Sheila Friedland will present an illustrated talk about the most famous art dealer of all time: Joseph Duveen, a Jew from London. Because of Duveen, many of the great old master paintings in American museums came to our shores. Duveen’s colorful life and interaction with the world’s greatest philanthropists of the time make for an illuminating look at the early 20th century.

Sheila Friedland was on the staff of the Jewish Museum for 12 years and later was executive director of Westchester Jewish Council, the umbrella for all synagogues and Jewish organizations in Westchester. She is a lover of art history and delights in sharing the story of this fascinating Jewish figure.
